SubSensory marks 100th release with new album by JAK

North American label SubSensory’s 100th release features Atomic Lines, the first ever full length album from label boss Jack Coleman, aka JAK. It’s available now at all major download stores.

JAK is a DJ, live act, label boss and promoter based in Portland, Oregon. His original trax and remixes have appeared on labels such as Trapez, Advanced (Black), Translucent and Illegal Alien. Mixmag recently named his long-running SubSensory event series as one of Portland’s best parties. During his 20+ years as a DJ, and more recently as a live performer, he’s performed in locations ranging from his hometown to Detroit, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Santiago de Chile, and more.

Atomic Lines represents the culmination of a decade’s work with SubSensory. In addition to work by JAK and other Portland-based artists, the label has featured the likes of Audio Injection (Truncate), Adam Jay, Angel Alanis, Noncompliant, JGarrett, Jon Rundell, and Dj Seoul from Detroit Techno Militia.

The 10 track LP also reflects JAK’s recent shift toward live performance. Most of the album was developed out of his 2019 live set, which debuted at Minneapolis’ celebrated underground party, System. The LP ranges from the title track’s low slung techno funk, to the atmospheric vibe of “Atmophunk” to the high octane grooves of “Epica,” There’s even a touch of acid house on “Acid Space.” While the tracks vary, they share in sleek production, classic techno influences, floor filling rhythms and plenty of JAK’s signature
acid sounds.
