Miss Vixen aka Tracy Why has had an obsession with electronic music her entire life. Early on, classical and video game music helped plant the seeds that would later grow into a full-fledged love affair with underground dance music.
A self taught DJ, Mrs. Why has been rocking parties and clubs throughout the Northwest since 2003. Drawing influence from years of listening to all forms of electronica, classical, and world music, she has forged a unique style of minimal to maximal techno and tech-house, ranging from the dark and weird, to funky and chunky, deep and uplifting, to dirty and banging. Her sets are always raw and dynamic, heavily infused with tribal sounds, driving bass, and intricate textures.
In 2011 she started Cock Block, a monthly all female DJ night which quickly become one of Portland’s most popular house/techno nights. She also holds a residency at Subsensory’s long standing techno night Static, and is a member of their DJ roster as well.
